When people work together towards a common goal, it builds and strengthens communities. Creating awareness about recycling encourages community engagement through environmental issues. We speak at public events, to large and small companies, and to university groups whenever possible to educate people about the waste stream.
Some materials can be reused before they get processed for recycling. Salvaging materials uses less energy than recycling and reduces the consumption of new materials. We recover materials like furniture and lumber whenever possible and donate them to community groups who need them for their projects.
In addition to community groups, artists can also reuse materials before they get recycled. Revolution Recovery has donated space in their warehouse and materials to the local non-profit RAIR.
